Translation Technology
On this page, you will find a sample of the tools and utilities for translators developed by Esaro AB.
tripper
This command line tool converts the output from Trados exports into human-readable RTF, commonly used for proofing and spell-checking parts of Trados translation memories, solving the problem on how to proof a small portion of a large Trados localization project. The tool converts the output from SDL Trados Translator’s Workbench into a RTF-formatted file for successive processing in other environments. Export the portion of the TM you’re interested in using the Export command on the File menu, using any applicable constraints, and run the resulting .txt file through Tripper. The output of Tripper is a human-readable document in RTF format. New version (1.0.005) with replacement of SGML-tags and integrated help system.mclip
lsg2txt
This tool converts output from Microsoft® LocStudio to a tab separated format suitable for tools like Tittut. The current version is 1.0.002 from August, 2007, and supports detection of input that isn’t Unicode compliant.
rpt2tab
This command-line tool is used to convert Trados word-count logs to a tabulated text formated, well suited for further analysis in software such as Microsoft Excel. It expects a Trados-formatted analysis in text format as standard input, and will output the re-formatted tabulated format to the standard output. Use the tool with redirection of stdin and stdout, like this:rpt2tab < analysis.log > analysis.txt
